Dear Deans, Professors and Praesidior:

Since we are about to begin an exciting new term at the University, I would like to recommend one mandatory short course in Storytelling {Role Playing} for all students except the most advanced. Even the most advanced, if they could join the class and if we can assemble all our students, full and part time, at some specific time, even the most advanced rpers could help the others as they begin to create or flesh out their characters.

I would be happy to lead the beginning sessions of such a course for the KS, and would look to ye others to add yer expertise to these studies! I be amazed somewhat to find that even advanced players have not necessarily approached creating and then living their character's lives, desires, motivations and secrets in the same way or with the same depth of purpose that many have already put into their skill building and crafting work.

Maybe we can talk about this idea here?

Thanks!
RR

We can, of course...

This is indeed an interesting suggestion. I would not mind it; knowing who you are is one of the most important requirements in Yliakum to survive successfully.

So much for now, I'll think more about it.

I would like to think further about this and discuss it with you.

I propose a 'workshop' 2 hour or so 'class' twice, with some homework in between, rather than just a question on the IGQs. My reasons are:
1) rping is the basis of PS and lots of newbies and even mid-bies don't know what rping is, either casually or in extended form
2) a workshop class would help guild members meet each other and bond
3) it would help us continuing KSers to share some of the lore and our own histories with the new members
4) it is something I don't know that other guilds actually train, they way they train skills and questing, so perhaps it could be a somewhat unique offering of KS
5) it could be FUN!!

I would be happy to lead such a workshop.

6) we could even offer it as a class for people at large for some amount of tuition, which would help KS coffers and build interest perhaps in the Guild and in rping skill in ps in general...

What do you think?
Thanks for discussing!

{Just for you to know in rl I am a live theatre director and have taught classes in character development, and I'm a playwright and have crafted ongoing story lines and plot structures, so I think my rl skills might be somewhat helpful.}

@ Roled:

I like your suggestions. And I will try to bring my student(s) along and take part. Just hope that we will find a way to meet all together...

@ Tuathanach:

I don't think replacing an IGQ would be required, or even be the meaning of it.
